Advisory Groups

1. Health & Safety Managers Working Party

Comprising the H&S managers (or equivalent) from all of the shareholding councils, they identify areas where health and safety policy, procedures or guidelines need to be developed and make recommendations to the Co-Lab Board.

1. RATA Advisory Group

Comprising Chief Executives and General Managers from shareholding Councils and NZTA/Waka Kotahi, they aspire to drive consistency and good practice in roading asset management and related activities to improve the wellbeing of communities.

2. Health & Safety Governance Group

Comprising of four representatives from the H&S Managers Group and representatives from SHE Software NZ LTD. They work together to establish consistent messaging going out to councils, review pre-qualification questionnaires and consider changes to the evaluation process.

2. Waikato Building Consent Advisory Group

Comprising representatives from eight of the shareholding councils, they foster co-operation and consistency in building control functions, processes, and documentation, to provide excellent and consistent customer service across the Waikato region.

3. People & Capability Managers Working Party

Comprising representatives from all shareholding councils, they identify and implement council people related projects (HR) which benefit all councils.

3. Insurance Advisory Group

Comprising representatives from all of the shareholding councils, they manage the procurement of insurance on a collective basis to achieve best value for money, and also manages the insurance broker’s contract performance.

4. Procurement Managers’ Working Party

Comprising the Procurement Managers from all our shareholding councils, this working party meets to identify and progress procurement and reform initiatives. Currently chaired by Waikato District, the working party provides a forum to share ideas, bring consistency in procurement across the region, and improve value for money outcomes for councils.

4. Geospatial Services Advisory Group

This group provides strategic oversight of Waikato Data Portal and Waikato OneView, two public platforms through which councils share their data. They are working to ensure people trust regional geospatial knowledge to make better decisions.

5. Shared Services Working Party

Comprising the GM Corporate (or equivalent) from all of the shareholding councils, they consider and evaluate new shared services opportunities and make recommendations to the Co-Lab Board.

6. Comms & Engagement Working Group

Comprising of communications & engagement leads from shareholding councils, the group’s purpose is to identify and progress regional communications & engagement collaboration opportunities.

7. Waikato Resource Consent Forum

Comprising representatives from eight of the shareholding councils, they foster co-operation and consistency in building control functions, processes, and documentation, to provide excellent and consistent customer service across the Waikato region.
